Founding Marketing Lead — Large Group Games

MeetMax Games is building a new tabletop publishing company focused on games for large groups.

We are looking for our first Marketing Director to lead the launch of this new publishing effort. This is a hands-on, founding role responsible for building the marketing strategy, launching the first titles, and establishing the audience for a new category of tabletop games designed for 5–15 players.

You will work directly with the founders to define positioning, build community, and bring our first games to market.  This is a remote role, working primarily within U.S. East Coast hours.

About MeetMax Games

MeetMax Games creates interactive games for large groups.  Today we produce hosted games used for corporate events, universities, and organisations. Our clients include hundreds of companies who hire us to run games for groups ranging from 10 to 200 players.  Our games are designed to be:

  • easy to learn

  • engaging for large groups

  • strategically interesting

They combine the accessibility of party games with the meaningful decisions found in board games.  All of our current products are professionally hosted events where clients simply show up and play.

Our Next Step: Publishing Large-Group Games

In 2026 we will launch a publishing program that adapts our proven hosted games into self-run games-in-a-box.  These hybrid tabletop games will combine:

  • physical components

  • digital support via an app

  • structured play for large groups

The tabletop industry has thousands of games designed for 2–5 players, but very few designed for larger organised groups. Our goal is to build a publishing company specialising in this underserved segment.

Why This Role Is Interesting

This role offers the opportunity to help build a new category of tabletop gaming. You will be joining at the start of the publishing effort with the ability to shape:

  • the brand and positioning of the company

  • how large-group games are introduced to the hobby market

  • the launch strategy for the first titles

  • the marketing systems that will support future releases

You will start with significant advantages:

  • proven game concepts already tested with large audiences

  • an experienced design team

  • existing customers and reference clients

  • the first publishing titles already in development

What You Will Own

Product Launch

  • Develop and execute launch plans for new games

  • Coordinate launch messaging with product development

  • Build early-adopter interest and pre-launch buzz

Community and Influencer Marketing

  • Build relationships with board game influencers and reviewers

  • Develop outreach programs for hobby gaming audiences

  • Engage communities through conventions and online channels

Campaigns and Promotion

  • Plan and run promotions, and events

  • Support crowdfunding campaigns where appropriate

  • Track performance and analyse results

Messaging and Content

  • Create launch materials such as sales sheets, videos, and web content

  • Manage website, newsletter, and social channels

Channel Marketing support

  • Support distribution channels including Kickstarter, Amazon, and hobby retail

  • Provide marketing collateral to support sales efforts

  • Coordinate with partners on promotions and launches

This is a hands-on role. You will execute campaigns yourself as well as plan them.
