What we are doing
We are creating entertainment. We design and deliver fun challenging games for large groups that give people left-brain fun. Not for education and not to teach any message more than reminding people what a joy it is to connect with each other. We believe that when people engage and play together they get to know each other and communicate better, but that is a happy by-product of a good game, not the basic goal.
No compromise
We try to make really good original games that are driven by three core design values:
Engaging: A good game should engage players with interesting choices, player agency and exciting outcomes
Social: Our games should require player-to-player interaction within the play so social connections are seamlessly made
Universal: Games should be simple enough to learn in a minute, smart enough to be fun for intelligent adults and short enough to keep everyone’s attention
Flexible schedules
Most of us worked remotely even before the virus and we all have other interests outside of our work that also take our time, including; family, volunteering, artistic projects and other work engagements. It’s a part of who we are. We are not saving the world, we’re just trying to make it a little bit happier and have fun while we do it. We are professional and serious about our work, but not obsessive and are very happy to accommodate a flexible schedule for the right person.
Roles we are looking for
Community Outreach Manager (part-time)
We need someone who to help us reach out to the various games and social media communities and participants to evangelize about our games. This is telling people about our games, what we are doing, and immediately (ie right now) get the word out about our free holiday game. Its a really fun role for the right person as it’s sort of marketing but you’re not asking anyone for money, you are giving something away for free and you are playing and talking about games ! This is part-time to start and you can fit this role into your own timetable.
Short term goals:
Promote our free family game for the lockdown holidays to relevant youtube channels, on social media and to core board game sites (game is scheduled to come out Dec 1)
Longer term goals:
Promote new games to the community and on social media
Gather feedback and manage any community of players
Recruit and run a regular test group to play new games
Who you are:
You must be totally self-motivated. You are going to be given lots of autonomy and not much direction. You must: love playing games, be comfortable with social media, have a good basic tech knowledge and ability to find and use tools to help you eg basic design tools, website tools, managing email lists, setting up forms and user groups and any other productivity apps you like. Ideally you have some marketing or community management experience, but if you are smart, friendly and enthusiastic we figure you’ll pick it up
You must live and work in a reasonable time-zone (The Americas, Europe or Africa) beyond that it’s too hard to regularly communicate. English must be your first language or so good that no one can tell it isn’t.
